Join us for a
sacred and soulful evening
Join us for a sacred and soulful evening of call and
response chanting with celebrated Kirtan Chant
Artist David Newman aka Durga Das joined by
devotional singer and percussionist MIRA.
About David Newman
David Newman (Durga Das) is a widely recognized Chant
Artist who travels extensively singing kirtan and offering
workshops on the healing power of sound and the devotional
aspects of the yoga path known as Bhakti Yoga. David’s approach
to Kirtan is authentic, original and creative – merging ancient
mantras with a contemporary and distinctive musicality. His
sound embodies a devotional mysticism and poetic intimacy while
maintaining a deep respect for India's ancient chant tradition.
David has released three CDs: Soul Freedom, Lotus Feet: A
Kirtan Revolution, Leap of Grace: The Hanuman Chalisa and
his latest CD/DVD set Into the Bliss. He is also the
founder of Yoga On Main in Philadelphia and the author of
Merging with Grace: The Practice of Inner Fire Meditation.
